Good News for Space Writing and OuUnPo

Curatorial Mutiny is proud to announce that Helge Ax:son Johnsons stiftelse supports our project Space Writing which is an exchange with artists and architects in Mexico City as well as the work with developing the OuUnPo publication!

Space Writing is a project reflects on the philosophical role that the map has played in the shaping of Western societies. Space writing opens dialogues between architecture, philosophy, design and contemporary art in order to stimulate conversations between professionals in Sweden and Mexico. The project will be active between autumn 2016 and summer 2018 and will lead to a series of public events in Mexico and Sweden.

Space Writing brings together the architectural platform LIGA in Mexico City with the Swedish research vehicle Curatorial Mutiny. The project takes its starting point in Geografia. Un’Introduzione ai Modelli del Mondo, 2003, (‘Geography. An Introduction to the World’s Models’) by Italian geographer and philosopher of space Franco Farinelli, which tells the story of one of the most powerful and enduring forms of translation in history - that of the cartographic representation of the world.

OuUnPo is a network of (mostly) European artists, curators and researchers and the support will be used to bring us together to develop a publication on the project "Catastrophe and Heritage" that the group carried out in Sweden, Lebanon, Japan, Brazil and Italy.
